Persevering in the Path of Eternal Salvation
Positive Christianity Series Episode #316
GOD Almighty instructed the Torah to Moses so that he could teach Israel the importance of righteousness, integrity, morality, and genuine empathy. GOD Almighty allows us to know that if we love GOD Almighty above everything and respect humanity, we can persevere despite adversity, times, and discouragements. We learn that after instructing the commandments to Moses and Israel, GOD Almighty did not forsake Moses and Israel in the desert after rescuing them from captivity in Egypt. Moses and Israel persevered in the desert despite the desert not having water, food, protection from the heat during the day and the cold at night, light at night, there was no wisdom, there were poisonous scorpions and snakes, and 5 hostile idolatrous nations that did not want to allow Israel to pass to the land of Canaan that became the land of Israel.
"The whole commandments that I command you today you shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land that the LORD swore to give to your fathers. And you shall remember the whole path that the LORD your GOD has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not."- Deuteronomy 8: 1-2
We learn that while the journey to the land of Canaan was no easy accomplishment, Moses and the righteous of Israel were able to obtain the land of Canaan that became the land of Israel. The righteous of Israel led by Moses believed the promises of GOD Almighty to Abraham and Sarah and kept unchanging fidelity to GOD Almighty. The righteous of Israel learned and most importantly obeyed the commandments of Moses and persisted in the desert. We learn that GOD Almighty was with Moses and the righteous of Israel. The faithful were able to have all their basic necessities met and improve in the worship of GOD Almighty. The faithful obtained, manna, bread from heaven, quail, streams of water from rocks, had a column of clouds during the day to shelter them from the heat, a pillar of fire at night to keep warm and to have light at night, walk in the desert without health infirmities, defeat 5 hostile nations including the Moabites who were advised by Balaam to tempt Israel with idol worship and adultery. There were wicked individuals in Israel who practiced idolatry and adultery and were destroyed from the land by the plague. The wicked individuals were not the majority and were destroyed by the plague for doubting GOD Almighty and Moses. Balaam was tempted with a room full of gold and silver and was destroyed by Israel along with Balaak and Moab.
The majority of Israel and Moses persevered trusting in GOD Almighty in the desert and defeated Moab and Balaam. Moses and the righteous had seen the impressive signs and wonders of GOD Almighty and chose GOD Almighty over idol worship and adultery. Moses and the righteous were either married or understood that the favor and blessings of GOD Almighty are greater than the crumbs of idol worship. Moses and the righteous did not want to know anything about adultery and idol worship and destroyed Balaam and the wicked of Moab. By prioritizing the worship of GOD Almighty, Moses and the faithful of Israel persevered with everything that they needed. The wicked of Israel were destroyed and did not make it to the land of Canaan that became the land of Israel (Deuteronomy 8: 11-20).
"And he humbled you and made you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. Your clothing did not wear out on you and your feet did not swell these forty years. Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the LORD your GOD disciplines you. So you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your GOD by walking in his paths and by fearing him."- Deuteronomy 8: 26
We learn that the righteous guided by Moses were able to thrive in the desert and made it to the land of Israel after defeating 6 hostile nations including the world power that was Egypt at that time. To the logical mind, it may be difficult to understand how Moses and the faithful of Israel could have thrived in the desert. Moses and the righteous of Israel made it through adversity, opposition, and persecution by worshiping GOD Almighty. We learn that Moses and the righteous of Israel prospered because they placed their faith in the Maker of Heaven and earth and not in the temporary imperfect things of this world. Moses and the righteous faithful loved GOD Almighty above everything and never practiced idol worship despite betrayal from Balaam, lying temptations, and hostilities. We choose GOD Almighty over the temporary things of this imperfect world. GOD Almighty never forsook Moses and the faithful of Israel in Egypt, the desert, nor in the land of Israel. GOD Almighty does not forsake us (Psalm 46: 1).
Learning Hebrew
Lev, לב, means heart in Hebrew. GOD Almighty tells us in Scripture that He tests the hearts and the minds of individuals to see if they worship GOD Almighty above everything or not. Anyone can say they worship GOD Almighty, but do they follow with their actions. GOD Almighty being Maker and LORD of everything also tests hearts and minds. We learn that Moses and the righteous of Israel kept unchanging fidelity to GOD Almighty despite there being larger nations with more resources and more time in the desert. Moses and the righteous of Israel kept unchanging fidelity to GOD Almighty despite the desert not having sources of water nor food. We learn that Moses and the righteous of Israel loved GOD Almighty above gold, silver, and precious stones. We learn that Moses and the righteous faithful of Israel did not practice idolatry deciding to not worship a golden calf that never parted the Red Sea. We learn that Moses and the faithful of Israel never practiced idol worship nor adultery. We learn that Moses and the good individuals of Israel trusted in the Eternal and Infinite GOD of gods. GOD Almighty did not disappoint them. We can pesevere loving GOD Almighty with all of our heart, mind, and soul over everything of this temporary imperfect world. We learn that the hostile idolatrous nations were not helped by idolatry, Balaak (who tempted), nor Balaam who believed the lying temptations. GOD Almighty tests the hearts and the minds.

Enjoy Shabbath rest! We can keep persevering amidst the not so good times we are living in by remembering that everyday we are closer to Shabbath and every Shabbath we are closer to Shabbath Millennium where the are no more wars, diseases, gangstalkers, nor deserts. In Shabbath Millennium there is no more envy and hate (there is also true competition in sports instead of corruption and favoritism.) We can persist knowing that the things of the imperfect world do not suffice and are not eternal and infinite. We prefer eternal salvation in Melech ha melechim Yahshua ha Mashiach.
