Resurrection Radio Podcast
Episode: “Deuteronomy, Choosing Life, and Moses”
Introduction
Good afternoon! My name is Eduardo. This is Resurrection Radio Podcast. I am your presenter. We spoke of the Book of Deuteronomy and of Joshua to understand the importance of the Scriptures. The Scriptures allow us to understand that GOD Almighty wants what is best for us. GOD Almighty wants us to understand wisdom, wants us to understand that we grow in the Spirit of Truth, and to understand what is truth and what is not truth. This prevents us from being deceived from the things of the world. We know that the things of the world are trying to change things so that the lies appear to be the truth. The lies are not the truth.
Truth Sets Us Free
Whoever is of the truth is of GOD Almighty. GOD Almighty gives truth. The truth sets us free. We read what King Jesus Christ tells us. If we have the truth and the word of GOD Almighty, we have freedom. If you have the belief in GOD Almighty, you are freed. We are free from the lies, deception, and falsehood. They do not help. They intend to lead the people to destruction when they believe in the lies. GOD Almighty is trying to lead us to salvation. Not only salvation in this life, but eternal salvation in the next life. We read in Deuteronomy about the importance of the Scriptures.
We read that they made copies of the Book of the Law of Moses. They would secure the book with the ark of the covenant so that they would travel together to the Promised Land so that they could have that reminder of the word of GOD Almighty. The ark of the covenant was the reminder of the presence of GOD Almighty because it was in the tent of witness. The tent of witness was a reminder of the presence of GOD Almighty wherever they traveled. This was when they were traveling from Mount Sinai and they were learning of the statutes of GOD Almighty. They began to worship GOD Almighty. They knew that GOD Almighty was with them. In the day, there was a cloud that traveled with them. At night there was a column and pillar of fire that was with them. The tent of witness was where the ark of the covenant and the Book of the Law was. The word of GOD Almighty and the Book of Deuteronomy that Moses had written down.
The Book of Deuteronomy and the Ten
Commandments
| Mount Gerazim |
This was to remind them that they needed to read from the Books of Moses to remind them of the word of GOD Almighty when Moses was no longer there. This is to remind them that the word of GOD Almighty is always with them. Then Joshua reminds the people by taking them to Mount Gerazim and Mount Ebal. To tell them the two paths they could take. The path of the righteous and the path of the wicked. Joshua writes down the Ten Commandments and reminds them of the words of Moses. This is to remind ourselves that GOD Almighty's word is eternal and if we follow the word of GOD Almighty, we have protection from GOD Almighty and wisdom. In today's world, we must remind ourselves of the truth in the word of GOD Almighty. There are other sources that speak of lies. If the news are reminding us of lies, we have to remind ourselves of the truth.
There are good sources that tell the truth, but we know that for the most part we have to be vigilant. King Jesus Christ tells us to stay awake. We have to know what is truth. The Spirit of Truth will tell us if something seems real or if it does not seem real. It depends if it is based on Scripture or if it is not based on Scripture. We know that Scripture is real. Scripture is reality. The perceived perceptions are only to sway us to the path of wickedness and that leads to destruction. The righteous are led to the path of righteousness.
The path of the righteous allows us to continue. In the Book of Deuteronomy, we know that Moses continues. Moses continues glorifying GOD Almighty and following the the word of GOD Almighty. We know that there are statutes. There are specific rules that the people have to follow. We know that the commandments are obviously told for the people to follow those commandments and have salvation and eternal salvation. Based on the commandments, they can build up on the Spirit of Truth and on the word of GOD Almighty. We continue to live out the good things that GOD Almighty wants to give. We worship King Jesus Christ. This is for the worship of GOD Almighty. We know that GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth are the True GOD Almighty.
There are specific statutes that are given to know so that they can remind themselves of the reminder that GOD Almighty is providing for them throughout. They have to have the Spirit of Truth and the word of GOD Almighty written down. Moses initially had the two tablets of stone to remind them of the Ten Commandments. When there was worship of idolatry, those two tablets were broken by Moses and then were written again. This is a reminder of the word of GOD Almighty. This is to be read constantly to remind ourselves of GOD Almighty. It says that in the future when they were going to have kings, in the blessings of Jacob that there is an understanding that there are going to be kings. Those kings were going to prosper through the reading and understanding of the Scriptures like King David and King Hezekiah.
The Kings of Israel and the Word of GOD Almighty
We learn that during the time of Abraham, they are told that there will be kings. GOD Almighty promises a remnant, the Promised Land, and the nation growing mighty and in number like the sands of the sea or the stars of the skies. We know that the people are reminded that Israel was going to have kings at some point in the future. GOD Almighty starts with Saul, David, and Solomon. Then there are the kings of the tribe of the north and the tribes of the south. We know specifically that the south are the remnant and the righteous individuals. While the north commits idolatry. This is something that I had not know in the past. I knew about the specific requirements for the kings in the past, but it says:
“When he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself in a book a copy of this
law, approved by the Levitical priests. And it shall be with him, and
he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to
fear the LORD his GOD by keeping all the words of this law and these statutes, and doing them, that
his heart may not be lifted up above his brothers and that he may
not turn aside from the commandment, either to the right hand or to the left, so
that he can continue living long in his kingdom, he and his children, in Israel.”-Deuteronomy 17: 18-20
This is telling us of a time during the time of Moses that there were distinctions in the time of Saul, David, and Solomon and the lineage of David. We know that also GOD Almighty makes promises to David like He does for Abraham. We learn that David was going to obtain favor and from David was going to arise the King of Judah forever. This is the similar promise to Abraham that they were going to grow in number forever. They were going to be growing forever if they had the commandments of GOD Almighty and the belief in GOD Almighty.
Here we learn what was intended for the people. When they were going to have kings in the history of Israel. The kings were supposed to write for themselves a copy of the laws and statutes of GOD Almighty approved by the priests. This is how GOD Almighty organizes everything. There are the kings and then there are the Levitical priesthood. King Jesus Christ is going to be unifying this so that the future kings may be priest kings. They are going to be kings based on their closeness to GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth. Their faith and belief is what causes them to be faithful to GOD Almighty. They have that exaltation because they humble themselves to GOD Almighty. There is that constant reminder than in the time of Moses, the future kings were going to have their own copies of the Scriptures to remind themselves of GOD Almighty.
David does this. David writes down the Psalms, and reads the instructions of GOD Almighty in the Scriptures. The past writings that existed at that time. David also has Psalms. David writes the Psalms glorifying GOD Almighty. David does what is spoken of by Moses writing down the information to glorify GOD Almighty. This is the reminder that GOD Almighty is to be glorified, and GOD Almighty receives the glory. This is the reminder of all the good things of GOD Almighty. This is to remind ourselves of the power of GOD Almighty, the grace of GOD Almighty, the understanding of GOD Almighty, the wisdom of GOD Almighty, the sovereignty of GOD Almighty, the authority of GOD Almighty, and the dominion of GOD Almighty.
