Episode: “Solomon's Faith, The First Temple, and the Importance of Prayer”
Introduction
Good afternoon! My name is Eduardo. This is Resurrection Radio Podcast. I am your presenter. We had spoken about the book of Chronicles and Kings to give us context about how David has some difficulties as king but is able to inherit the kingship and the kingdom to Solomon. We read in the Psalms and the prayers of thanksgiving that David gives worship, praise, and glory to GOD Almighty. David acknowledges that all things are of GOD Almighty and that GOD Almighty gives good things to righteous believers. We are supposed to glorify, praise, and worship GOD Almighty with what GOD Almighty gives.

The Story of Solomon's Wisdom
This is showing to us that GOD Almighty cares for us, and that we care for GOD Almighty. Now we go into the story of Solomon. We talked about the story of Solomon. Initially, Solomon has wisdom because that is what he asks for so that he can lead the people of Israel. When they continue to abound in the specific understanding of the statutes, understandings, and belief in GOD Almighty, Israel continues to grow. Even in the kingdom of Solomon, we know that there are all these descriptions of everything that is had at the time of David and Solomon. The kingdom of Israel is unified.
Israel grows. It continues to improve through the belief in GOD Almighty. We know that David organizes everything, and Solomon builds the temple. We learn that the glory of GOD Almighty is in the first temple similar to the tent of witness. The tent of witness of Moses and Aaron. This was when they were following the belief of GOD Almighty and following the commandments. I do not know if there is correlation between this time and the time the Proverbs are written. The Proverbs have understanding of the importance of following the commandments.
An Introduction to the Proverbs of Solomon
The Proverbs are able to tell us about how the righteous are able to continue and how the wicked are not able to continue. There is that distinction. We are supposed to choose the things of GOD Almighty. We are supposed to choose truth. We are supposed to choose belief. We are supposed to have faith. We are supposed to choose wisdom. We are supposed to honor GOD Almighty with what we do, with our work, with our worship, and with our praise. We have to follow the commandments and believe in the commandments because they add years of life.
They allow us to fill out our days through the commandments. The commandments allow us to live for a long amount of time. Wisdom is the hatred of evil. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom all those who practice it have a good understanding. That is the start of wisdom when we fear the LORD and glorify GOD Almighty. We know that GOD Almighty knows everything so that we do not have to know everything. We just have faith in GOD Almighty, and we trust GOD Almighty. Even when there are difficult situations like we see with David, GOD Almighty is able to provide for a time of peace. They are not afflicted by the surrounding nations or individuals, and they are at peace.
In that specific time, Solomon is given a time of peace. The temple takes several years to be constructed. It is constructed, and there is so much peace. There is diplomacy with other nations. Other nations are not afflicting Israel because GOD Almighty is allowing for this to happen. GOD Almighty decides to give peace to Israel with the surrounding nations. It is not Israel, it is GOD Almighty deciding for there to be peace at that time. We learn that the temple is consecrated and the glory of GOD Almighty is in the temple. This is similar to the tent of witness. This tells us that GOD Almighty is with them.
GOD Almighty sees everything and understands everything. We learn in the Proverbs that Solomon tells us to choose the path of life. Similar to the Psalms of David, choose the things of GOD Almighty. There is other advice and suggestions, but the core of the Proverbs is understanding that GOD Almighty gives us so much. There are things of GOD Almighty that we have to know like wisdom, joy, peace, love, grace, authority, dominion, and sovereignty. We know that GOD Almighty gives all of that through the understanding in the Proverbs, and we continue to believe in GOD Almighty.
We have to have faith in GOD Almighty because GOD Almighty can provide. GOD Almighty provides for the filling out of our days, providing for our necessities, and spiritual gifts so that we are able to have faith in GOD Almighty and have an increase in zeal and still persevere to grow in the worship of GOD Almighty and have eternal life. All of this is from GOD Almighty. There is nothing in the world that can provide for what Solomon says or what David says. Only GOD Almighty can provide for this.
Solomon Acknowledges the Promises of GOD Almighty to Israel and David
We read that Solomon is able to offer a prayer to GOD Almighty when they see the glory of GOD Almighty in the temple and when they finish constructing the temple. This is the first temple after the tent of witness. We have to understand that this is the spiritual progression spoken of gradually in Scripture. First, only Moses is allowed on top of Mount Sinai to teach the people the commandments, statutes, and Sabbaths so that the people are reconciled back to GOD Almighty. Then, after the tent of witness that allows the Levites, the sons of Aaron and Moses, to have the manner that they are atoning for the people and growing closer to GOD Almighty. The priests are atoning for the people. The people learn to worship GOD Almighty and are reconciled back to GOD Almighty.
The temple is set up for that spiritual progression. When we learn that the people begin to practice idolatry in the temple and GOD Almighty sees that the people do not care about the temple, the glory of GOD Almighty leaves. That is what we learn in Ezekiel's time. We read about Ezekiel having a vision about the glory of GOD Almighty leaving the first temple before the time of the Chaldean exile, before the temple is destroyed, before the people go into Chaldea. We learn about the glory of GOD Almighty leaving the first temple because there is so much idolatry, sin, and wickedness. Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel are told to preach to the people repentance so that they do not go into exile.
This is what we read
about the promises that GOD Almighty makes to David and now to
Solomon. As long as they are with GOD Almighty, for the lineage of
David, Solomon, Rehoboam, and the sons of Rehoboam, all the kings to
the point of Jeremiah that if they obey GOD Almighty, GOD Almighty
was going to provide for them and protect. They were going to have a
king on the throne, and they were going to have the temple, and they
were going to have the protection of GOD Almighty. When there is idolatry and sin and there is no temple, we learn that King Jesus Christ is the Eternal Temple, Eternal High Priest, eternal atoning sacrifice, and the prophet similar to Moses but greater than a prophet because He is the Son of GOD Almighty. We learn that King Jesus Christ is the Eternal King of kings of Judah from the lineage of David that would forever have the throne and scepter.
Difficulties Due to Idolatry, Sin, and Wickedness
As soon as they decided to commit idolatry and live like the nations, they were not going to have land, they were not going to have a temple, and they were not going to have a king. That is what happens. In the time of Ezekiel, we have the vision of the temple where the glory of GOD Almighty leaves the temple. That is when GOD Almighty had decided that the temple was not going to have the favor of GOD Almighty. The land was not going to have the favor of GOD Almighty at that time.
We learn that when they return, GOD Almighty gives them favor when they start believing again. They construct the second temple and reconstruct Jerusalem. They reconstruct but there is lukewarm worship. They seem like they are going to worship GOD Almighty with all their heart, all their mind, and all their soul, and then there is lukewarm worship. When there are locusts, the crops do not allow for the abundance. The nations afflict them. They had the difficulties with the Greeks and Romans.
This is talking about the sin that was happening. For the time of Solomon, knowing that everything was working out. Through David's faith, the people had seen how much growth and understanding and wisdom there was through the word of GOD Almighty. It is interesting seeing specific writings from Psalms that the kings would have their own writings of Scripture or they would write their own writings. David has his own writings in the Psalms. We know Solomon has his own writings which are Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. We learn that Hezekiah also has some writings in Psalms and the Book of Isaiah.
This is telling us of the righteous individuals that obey the word of GOD Almighty, and they also left information so that future generations could know about the word of GOD Almighty and the need to obey the word of GOD Almighty. They had so much. The time when the kingdom of Israel was unified and prospering unlike any other. Only GOD Almighty can provide for this. Only GOD Almighty can provide for all this. We know that when we confess King Jesus Christ LORD and Savior, repent of sin, and obey the commandments of Moses, we are able to obtain favor, blessings, and increase of virtues that allow us to persevere in the worship of GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth. We learn that this is based on the worship of GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth. We know that there is a future time when King Jesus Christ returns from the clouds, judges, and removes sin, the workers of evil, evil, and death for all eternity and we begin the Millennial Reign of King Jesus Christ in the New Earth.

The purpose of this blog is the glorification of GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth. We are reminded in the Book of Revelation of the need to persist through faith in the end times of what we know. We are to have belief in the Scriptures. We are to have faith in King Jesus Christ who died on the cross and resurrected on the third day to give us eternal life and who provides the Spirit of Truth. We are able to glorify GOD Almighty above everything in this world. We are reminded in Revelation to not be a part of idolatry and not to take the technological modification.
