Episode: “Solomon's Faith, the First Temple, and Solomon's Prayer for the People of Israel”

Introduction

Good afternoon! My name is Eduardo. This is Resurrection Radio Podcast. I am your presenter. We spoke of the Book of 2 Chronicles which speaks about those specific abundances that GOD Almighty was giving to the people of Israel because David was being faithful to GOD Almighty and Solomon was being faithful to GOD Almighty initially. Because of this faith, the people of Israel were abounding and had peace with the surrounding nations, the people were increasing in number, and the land had increased through David and Solomon. Everything was perfect for the land of Israel because of the worship of GOD Almighty.

Israel is Unified Through Worship of GOD Almighty

This is happening because everyone is worshiping GOD Almighty. Not just David or Solomon, but everyone is worshiping GOD Almighty. All the people of Israel are worshiping GOD Almighty and those individuals that are believers. Everyone worships GOD Almighty. All of Israel went to worship GOD Almighty. This was a true worship, a zealous worship. This was not a lukewarm worship or a fifty fifty worship. That is what GOD Almighty enjoys. That is what GOD Almighty loves.

We see that so many things begin to happen. The first temple is created and Solomon blesses the LORD. Solomon acknowledges all the things that GOD Almighty had done for Israel from Moses from Abraham. All those promises are true and Solomon acknowledges that. Solomon acknowledges that the word of GOD Almighty is true. The people of Israel understand this when they see the house of GOD Almighty or the temple being created. We know that it cannot contain GOD Almighty. GOD Almighty is in the Highest Throne in the Highest Heavens.

What the temple represents is that GOD Almighty was going to be with the people of Israel. The temple is similar to the tent of witness that it was a manner to know that GOD Almighty was with them. There is the understanding that the temple was built to show that GOD Almighty was going to help the people of Israel. We learn that GOD Almighty builds David a house and also that the lineage of kings of Judah would be from the lineage of David. In building a house for GOD Almighty, David reminds the people that GOD Almighty is with them.

There was the tent of witness but there was the understanding that David also wanted to provide for the people to worship GOD Almighty in the temple. To glorify GOD Almighty, give GOD Almighty the praise. This was to provide the place that would allow the people to know that GOD Almighty was with them. They had the Promised Land and the promises were that if they were worshiping GOD Almighty they were going to keep the Promised Land. The tent of witness was a reminder that GOD Almighty was traveling with them through the desert into the Promised Land. The temple was meant to signify that the people were going to live in the Promised Land and GOD Almighty was going to be worshiped.

This is in the land of Israel, meaning that GOD Almighty had given them the land through the promises of Abraham. As long as they believe in GOD Almighty, everything is perfect for Israel. We learn that as long as there is idolatry, they are afflicted by the nations. If they practice idolatry even through the difficulties with the nations, they begin to go through exiles. If they keep practicing idolatry even through exile, they have greater difficulty. If they repent from sin and idolatry, the afflictions of the nations cease, and they are able to have restoration and renewal. They are able to return to the land.

Solomon's Prayer for the People of Israel

It is interesting to read the Book of Chronicles because it tells us about the different kings after Solomon. In this specific moment, Solomon blesses GOD Almighty and the people. There is that understanding that GOD Almighty is with them. GOD Almighty is providing for the people. GOD Almighty is protecting them. We are going to read the prayer that Solomon has for the people. The prayer allows for the people to know that GOD Almighty is with them like they knew with the tent of witness.

GOD Almighty was protecting and providing through the commandments, statutes, and Sabbaths. All of that is a reminder of GOD Almighty. So the temple reminds us of GOD Almighty providing for the people. GOD Almighty is in the Highest Throne in the Highest Heavens and the temple cannot contain GOD Almighty. The temple is where the name of the LORD would reside.

“And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven; and he said: ‘O LORD, the God of Israel, there is no God like Thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keepest covenant and mercy with Thy servants, that walk before Thee with all their heart; who hast kept with Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst promise him; yea, Thou spokest with Thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with Thy hand, as it is this day. Now therefore, O LORD, the God of Israel, keep with Thy servant David my father that which Thou hast promised him saying: There shall not fail thee a man in My sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk before Me as thou hast walked before Me. Now therefore, O God of Israel, let Thy word, I pray Thee, be verified, which Thou didst speak unto Thy servant David my father." 1 Kings 8: 22-26

This is a reminder that Solomon kneels down in the temple and begins to worship and praise GOD Almighty. Solomon says a prayer. Solomon acknowledges that GOD Almighty is the True GOD Almighty. There is no other god. When we read about those great prayers we learn that they acknowledge and praise GOD Almighty over everything. Solomon worships GOD Almighty because GOD Almighty is the Creator. GOD Almighty saves us and sends King Jesus Christ to give us eternal life and takes away our sins, resurrects on the third day, redeems us, reconciles us back to GOD Almighty. King Jesus Christ reconciles us to GOD the Father the Creator of the universe. King Jesus Christ gives us the Spirit of Truth. This is only through King Jesus Christ.

We learn that only GOD Almighty receives the worship. GOD Almighty is to be glorified. GOD Almighty keeps the promises that were told to Abraham. When we read about Solomon, we know that those promises are still continuing. We know there have been some struggles because the people began to go to idolatry in the Book of Judges. The people begin to commit sin like the nations and they are afflicted like the nations. When there are difficulties, Israel pleads to GOD Almighty to help them, and GOD Almighty sends those individuals that help. There are those cycles of belief and faithlessness in the time of the Book of Judges until Samuel.

When we read about David, and there is that understanding that under righteous individuals, Israel abounds. Paying attention to those righteous individuals and even in those individuals that are not righteous, we see examples of what not to follow. We see in the example of those individuals, like those that rebel against Moses. They do not make it to the Promised Land. Those that are faithful make it to the Promised Land. Those that are faithful are able to make it to the Promised Land and accomplish the purpose of GOD Almighty. GOD Almighty promises to help. Those promises are true. GOD Almighty promises to help. Scripture tells us like the genealogies and the different tribes and the people that have existed through those different tribes of GOD Almighty providing for the people to continue. This tells us of those genealogies not only serve to tell us of those specific tribes and those individuals from each tribe, but most importantly to know that the nation of Israel would continue. That is what those genealogies tell us.

Based on what we read previously, now reading about GOD Almighty keeping covenant, helping with Israel's belief, and being faithful to righteous individuals, GOD Almighty provides for that understanding that as long as we are righteous and worshiping GOD Almighty and we care about the things of GOD Almighty and we are zealous for the things of GOD Almighty, GOD Almighty is going to provide. Sometimes we do not know how. Sometimes we do not know how GOD Almighty is going to provide, like David. All those situations that David goes through and does not know what is going to happen, but GOD Almighty provides. The faith in GOD Almighty is greater than the circumstances. The faith in GOD Almighty is greater than the doubts. The faith in GOD Almighty is greater than the questioning against GOD Almighty.

We do not question GOD Almighty, we question the world. We question other things. GOD Almighty knows everything. GOD Almighty knows absolutely every single detail. GOD Almighty know better than anyone. We learn that GOD Almighty has kept David as a servant and David has been able to improve, increase, and help the people. That is something that happens. Also fulfilling His word. David being important to Israel. David being exalted because he humbled himself to GOD Almighty. Solomon is able to continue what David wanted to do. GOD Almighty receives the praise, and the people of Israel have faith in GOD Almighty.

The purpose of this blog is the glorification of GOD Almighty, King Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth. We are reminded in the Book of Revelation of the need to persist through faith in the end times of what we know. We are to have belief in the Scriptures. We are to have faith in King Jesus Christ who died on the cross and resurrected on the third day to give us eternal life and who provides the Spirit of Truth. We are able to glorify GOD Almighty above everything in this world. We are reminded in Revelation to not be a part of idolatry and not to take the technological modification.
